About

Offline Arcade started as a shared notes file between three friends who kept losing internet on trains and planes. We wanted a list of games that still worked when the bars dropped to zero, and the file eventually turned into this site.,Everyone who writes here actually finishes the games first. We don't repost store descriptions or lean on trailers. If a game says it works offline, we put the phone in airplane mode and see what breaks.,We pick titles across genres on purpose. Some weeks we're deep in a turn-based RPG, other weeks it's a tiny fishing studio or a card game for the bus ride. Variety keeps the reviews honest, because different genres age in different ways.,The site pays for itself through modest display ads. Nobody pays us to score a game higher, and we'll say so plainly whenever a game disappoints us.

Marta Kowalczyk — Marta has been writing about handheld and mobile games for over a decade and still keeps a drawer full of old devices for testing. She runs the review calendar and does most of the RPG coverage.
