How to make room for offline games

May 28, 2026 · Marta Kowalczyk

Offline games earn their space by being playable anywhere, but they're often the biggest files on your phone. A little maintenance keeps them there.

Start by clearing cached data from streaming apps, which quietly balloon over time. That alone often frees several gigabytes.

Download big games over Wi-Fi before a trip, and delete finished single-player games once you've seen the credits. You can always reinstall later.

I keep a small rotation: two heavy games, a couple of light ones. It stops the phone from filling up while still giving me variety.

None of this is complicated. Fifteen minutes of tidying means you never miss a game because there was no room to install it.
